Wooden bowl : Maori feather box from New Zealand. It would have been used to store highly valued feathers worn on ceremonial occasions by important men. Carved throughout on outer surface with toothed line designs and coils in the centre : Carved lugs at either end in male and female form (sex organs clearly marked) : Lid missing : Length 52 cms : Width 16.2 cms : Height 11cms
