Black and white : Portrait photograph : 1941. Joseph Peters in military uniform when he was 18 years of age : Length 20.5 cms : Width 15 cms Front - Black and white photograph. Studio portrait of a young man dressed in a German Naval (Kreigsmarine) uniform. He wears a double breasted jacket with an eagle emblem at the breast and wide trousers. On his head is a cap, again, with an eagle emblem. Back - Written in ink is ' Joseph Peters of Kalk? Koln, Germany taken about 1941 when he was 18 years of age. He made the wooden windmill when he was 23 yrs'. Note - No indication given of any connection with Epping Forest.
