Brief description
Silver penny of Harold II (Harold Godwinson). Pax or Sole Type. Minted in Wilton by the moneyer Aelfweald. Obverse, crowned bust facing left holding sceptre. Inscribed with '+HAROLD REX ANG.' Reverse, central 'PAX' surrounded by '+AEFPOLD ON PILTI.' Understood to have been part of Soberton (Hampshire) Hoard.
