Brief description
Black and white photograph, with white border, taken from above, looking across a building site. Top of photograph shows the junction of Old Station Road, High Road and Connaught Avenue Loughton. The site has 2 open entrances from Old Station Road, the upper one on the right leads to single storey huts and has a mechanical digger alongside. the lower entrance has a slope leading to a lower level, a dumper truck is on the slope. Beyond the slope is a fenced concrete platform and a deep hole with vertical planking and some horizontal planking. Reverse has in top right, in blue ink, handwritten Crown Site, Loughton 3rd June '66 and in the centre No. 2. There is an Alan Kay ink stamp towards the left.
