Brief description

Mounted sepia photograph of Sewardstone Street, c1920. The large dilapidated house in the photograph was built by a London mercer, Thomas Winspear, c1640. Excavation on the site by WAHS in 1966 produced fine pottery and glass datable to 1669 (now in the in museum collection). Donor's neighbour's husband lived in Waltham Abbey.
