Brief description

Handmade plush mouse toy: Primrose Woodmouse. Part of a set of 6 Brambly Hedge plush toys made by the donor's mother, Alice Williamson when she was aged 80 in 1984, using The Brambly Hedge Pattern Book (EPPMS.2024.8.7), page 11-20. Mouse head consists of simple plain black plastic beads for eyes and nose, and brown felt ears. She is wearing a cream cotton (crepe) skirt and matching sleeves and a cream coloured broderie anglaise frill. The bodice is plain white cotton. Over this is a white apron with frills down the bodice and edging of the skirt (with broderie anglaise lace). There is a pocket to the right. There is a white bow at the back of the waistline. The mouse is holding a small mouse toy with a yellow ribbon in her left hand, clutched close to her body. Under the skirt are plain white pantaloons. The mouse tail and feet are visible (brown felt).
